For those who prefer staying closer to home, England and Ireland deliver fantastic links golf, a warm clubhouse atmosphere and memorable weekend escapes. Think about what matters most to you — the weather, the courses, the nightlife or the overall resort experience and we’ll help you find the perfect fit.

There’s no single answer, but for most destinations spring and autumn — offer the best combination of good conditions, manageable course availability and competitive pricing. Much of Europe enjoys mild temperatures and quieter fairways during these months. Summer works well if you’re travelling as a group and booking ahead, though popular resorts can get busy. If you’re heading somewhere warmer in winter, you’ll generally find more consistent playing conditions, whereas UK golf tends to be more weather-dependent year-round.

What should I pack for a golf trip?

Think of everything you’d bring for a normal round, then add a few extras for travelling. Your clubs are the obvious essential — even if your destination offers hire, you’ll play better with your own. Pack plenty of balls and tees, a lightweight waterproof jacket and comfortable shoes that are already broken in (new shoes mid-trip can be painful). A glove and any accessories you rely on are worth bringing too. If you’re hiring clubs, you can travel lighter, but make sure your shoes and glove are sorted —  those two things make more difference than most people expect.      

Pricing varies quite a bit depending on where you’re going, how long you’re away and how many rounds you want to play. Shorter breaks — a long weekend with a couple of rounds included — tend to be the most affordable option. Longer trips with premium courses, transfers and baggage costs can add up more quickly, particularly if you’re taking your own clubs. The best way to manage your budget is to stay flexible on dates, as shoulder season travel nearly always offers better value. We’re happy to work within a set budget and find the best combination of quality and cost.

Many resorts are specifically designed with mixed groups in mind, so while golfers are out on the course, non-golfers have plenty to keep them busy. When you’re booking as a mixed group, the choice of resort and hotel matters more — we’ll make sure the location and facilities work for everyone travelling, not just the golfers.

Any amendments or cancellations may be subject to supplier charges, but we’ll always explain what these are before you make any decisions.
